Can I Drive with a Bad Belt Pulley?
Having a belt pulley fail can damage your vehicle's performance. Belt pulleys, alternatively referred to as tensioner or idler pulleys, are integral elements of the ancillary drive system of the engine as they ensure that the serpentine belt is properly tensioned. Damage to the belt pulley can make the belt slip, wear out faster, make the machine noisy, and damage the bracket. These issues can result in decreased vehicle performance as well as increased safety risks. To avoid further vehicle damage and for safe driving, get your belt pulley inspected and replaced immediately.
